Job Title: Aquaculture Technician (Prawn/Fish)

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

Under the direction of the RD Farms Manager. The Position is responsible for the proper planning and implementation of prawn/fish health programs and production plans and operating procedures on the particular areas, pens and/or ponds assigned to achieve productivity, efficiency, sustainability and profitability goals.

  1. Coordinates with Sea Cages and Grow-out technicians the section ad transfer of stocks to cages and grow-out facilities.
  2. Supervises stock examination to identify disease or parasites and apply prescribed medicinal substances to control and prevent infection.
  3. Determines food requirements and structures feeding regimes. Ensures sufficient supply of live feeds/natural foods for nursery.
  4. Monitors environment and maintains optimum nursery conditions to ensure high survival and growth rate.
  5. Collects, records and reports growth and production data. Keeps records of feeding stocking and breeding programs.
  6. Supervises and trains nursery maintenance support workers.
  7. Performs other relevant duties that may be assigned and required by the immediate superior at any given time.

Qualifications:
  1. Graduate of any fisheries/aquaculture related course.
  2. At least 2 (two) years experience in live feeds/natural foods propagation and fish nursery management or combination of training and experience.
  3. Male; Single or Married; 25-40 years old.
  4. Willing to travel abroad

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

  1. Preferably male and not more than fifty (50) years old.
  2. Physically well built and good health.
  3. Ability to supervise people.
  4. Good communication skills.
